Large side and rear extension – Surbiton

Project Summary

Cube carried out a large side and rear extension plus refurbishment to the first floor to this semi-detached property in Surbiton to create a stunning modern home for our clients. The existing dining room and kitchen were opened up, removing walls and installing steel beams to support the original structure, allowing us to extend and transform the rear of the house into a spacious kitchen dining room and separate study/playroom. Both of these rooms made use of wide glazed openings to flood the space with natural light and provide easy access to the newly created rear patio. With the addition of underfloor heating throughout this created a truly warm and welcoming space. We connected the existing front living room to the new kitchen dining space through the use of a double pocket door – allowing our clients the option to fully open up the ground floor space or close off the front room to create a cosy family room.

The garage was converted to provide useful storage space, a home gym area and plant room for all services, together with a newly formed utility room and cloakroom, essential for a growing family.

Upstairs, two of the bedrooms were refurbished with new wiring, plasterwork and decoration and the family bathroom totally reconfigured and updated.
